A Change in Course.

Tomorrow is our last day of school,

and my last day of kindergarten.

First Day of Kindergarten

First Day of Kindergarten-September 2012

After six incredible years of listening, learning and leading I am graduating from Woodson Kindergarten Center.

Starting July 2nd I will be starting a new role in a familiar school-as the Principal of Ellis Middle School. While the decision was difficult to leave the school, students and staff I dearly love-the opportunity to spend more time connecting with my own children was something I couldn’t pass up.

This new course in life also provides me an opportunity to have six years of former kindergarten students as 7th and 8th graders. A chance to see how much they have grown and what opportunities lie ahead as they are closer to adulthood then the last time I saw them. I also have the challenge of seeing first hand how practices from early learning could really be relevant in the middle school grades.

I am so excited to continue to work with educators passionate about #HackingEarlyLearning and looking forward to making even more connections between the early grades and the ‘upper grades’.

Dream Big, Live Colorfully and Lead Boldly.
